The mysterious misadventures of Clemency Wrigglesworth
Summary: This is really a wonderful enjoyable quirky adventure tale of a courageous young orphan, Clemency Wrigglesworth, who travels alone from India to England, not knowing where she is going or who will look after her. She is taken under the wing of Mrs Potchard and her son Gully, and his aunt Mrs Marvel and her children Whitby and Leicester. An ad is put in The Times newspaper publicizing her arrival to Britain. The advert gives Miss Wrigglesworths' location, but regrettably a rather shadowy lady comes to whisk Clemency away. This stranger may not have the young girls' best intentions at heart. Gully and Whitby set out on a daring rescue mission, while Clemency uses her courage and boldness in an attempt to find out the truth about her real family.rnrnBoth the children and I really enjoyed reading this book and we went through it in record timernAs other readers have commented, this book can be read by either Girls or Boys as the story will be interesting to both genders that said this novel can be read by adults who are interested in good adventure tales.
